12-Day Rainforest Hardwood Drying with High-Frequency Vacuum Kiln

There are three major high-quality timber producing regions in the world – South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. South America, as one of the global forest resource centers, has 45% of the world’s tropical rain-forests and an average forest coverage rate of about 30%.

Especially the typical wood species green heart wood, Kabukalli, Massaranduba renowned for its strength and durability. It has strong abilities to resist decay, termites, fire, and marine organisms.they are widely used in bridge construction, deck, floor, heavy structure, and dock construction. There are lots of quality rainforest hardwood logs, lumbers and beams in the yard.

Our client is company that strictly adhere to the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development. When we step into their showroom. I am deeply attract by the quality live edge slabs and the beautiful purple heart timber.

My client is using Nyle kiln, but problem is take long time. Especially for the beams and thick slabs, it take months to finish. This is a lot of frozen money.

He want to dry it with our high frequency vacuum wood dryer after sawmill. And finish the drying process within 2 weeks. That way will faster cash-flow.

High Frequency Vacuum Wood Dryer Kiln Installation

With our our full cooperation, the installation work finished very fast and after finish the debug and function test work, we start the wood stacking work.

Why the high frequency vacuum wood drying kiln can mixed different wood species and different thickness in one load?

It is mixed Kabukalli, Massaranduba and green heart wood with different thickness from 2” to 6” and the average start moisture content range is from 40% to 60%MC. My client would like to confirm if this is acceptable.

Based on the conventional steam kiln experience, the wood drying time based on wood density, thickness and moisture content. The thicker wood with higher moisture content need longer time than thin wood with lower moisture content.

High-frequency heating uses wet wood as a medium. In an alternating electromagnetic field, the water molecules in the wood rapidly and frequently rotate, generating heat through molecular friction.

It is kind of directly heating, the energy is absorbed directly in the wood rather than being transferred to it via a surface. The wood stacking is separate 4 layers by electrode plates.Easy layer wood is a group of capacitor.so the heating is no matter with the difference thickness of wood. Simply to say, the high frequency heating penetrate the different thickness wood.

High frequency heating has the characteristic of selective heating. It is only heat the water in the wood. During the drying process, as the temperature rises, the moisture content decreases.

Because water is conductivity, high moisture content wood will absorb more heating,These relationships can be such that preferential heating and drying of the wetter areas takes place, in the right circumstances leading to “moisture profile correction”. And that is why the it can get uniform moisture content finally even if put different moisture contact in same load.

High Frequency vacuum wood dryer kiln start the drying process

After finish the basic parameters setting ( wood size, weight and moisture content, vacuum pressure and wood heating temperature), the drying process is start. High frequency vaucum wood drying machine will be working automatic. All you need to do is just regular drainage.

Now you must want to know how long does hardwood take to dry? After 12 days later, we get the 8-10% MC result, and customer is very satisfied with the machine and service.

During these days in my client’s workshop, one of potential customer visit us and see how the high frequency vacuum wood dryer kiln working at site. He said it is an amazing machine, obviously that is what he want. If you want know more about the machine, contact us.
