In my last passage we have studied some disadvantages of the vacuum drying systems, and herewith, i will continue to outline the common ideas against the vacuum dying system and give some explanations, also show the now existing new solutions for them
the chamber is easy to be broken, because it is always faced with very tough situations.
This is a common concern because it is easily seen that wood drying is in a circumstance of wet and high temperature, what is more, to utilize the vacuum system , it adds some pressure differences between the inside and outside chamber. Now the existing solution for this problem which is proved to be effective is using better materials to against the corrosion and rust. Stainless steel is one best choice. The design life for such vacuum drying system could be more than 10 years.
When drying fast we it is easy to cause some deformation,thus there is a higher request of the pressure added on the top of the stack to keep wood straight.
Why i list the question here is because i have once seen a post showing that the client putting some stones on the top of the wood stack in a vacuum chamber, and he described his own concerns, the vacuum drying is fast but the loss of the water is uneven, so it will bend.
The reason why it is bending is in fact two reasons, one is the wood is dried for the surface firstly but the core is wet, the other is there is no a pressure system. So the solutions are like below, firstly we use high frequency instead of hot air and heating plates, it will heat the core and surface together, so there will not be moisture difference, and then we add a hydraulic system on the top to give proper pressure, it will keep the wood straight.
The cost of production is high due to it is drive by electricity, and this kind of way is not safe
The vacuum wood drying system is driven by electricity only, for most of them no boilers there，why the cost is high is not because it need more energy, in fact the new technology help make better use of the energy ,the test report shows that the efficiency is nearly 50% higher for the vacuum dryer, the extra cost comes from that, the energy price is different, wood dust and some waste are free, but electricity is costly, but is that true? Wood dust could also be used in some other places, burning is the worst way to use them.
And the way is not safe is totally a jock, it is like some one told you please do not use the car, it is too fast, if you hit the hill you will die, yes it is, but why i hit the hill, and it is common sense that for wood plant, the risk comes from fire, for electricity it needs cause fire first, then cause loss, but for boilers, fire is always there.
